Pop star Liz is latest to join up to Sudders' campaign

Adrian’s hope was that his actions could benefit some of the 16,000 people in the world who need bone marrow transplants, such as children Ella and Sam Wright, who inspired the Liverpool clinic.

Ella and Sam are siblings who both desperately need a bone marrow transplant.

Their mother, Sally, said: “Words cannot describe how happy we would be to find a suitable match.”

You can sign up on the Anthony Nolan Trust donor register if you are aged 18 to 40 and in good health. Gay men can now sign up to the register, following a rule change.

You can sign up to the British Bone Marrow Register – run by NHS Blood and UK Transplant – if you are aged 18 to 49. You must be eligible as a blood donor to join this register.

Male donors and donors from ethnic minority groups are in particularly short supply.
