Sudders' message to students

THE message of campaigning Examiner journalist Adrian Sudbury is to be delivered to 25,000 students when they start life at Huddersfield University this week.

Adrian, 27, died of leukaemia on August 20. He had dedicated the last few months of his life to his Sign Up For Sudders campaign, which aimed to get more people to register as bone marrow donors.

He also wanted to ensure 17 and 18-year-olds are educated as standard about donation.

Huddersfield University has taken his idea on board and will be delivering information about Adrian, his campaign and bone marrow donation as part of welcome talks given to all new first year students during Fresher’s Week.

Prof Bob Cryan, vice-chancellor of the university, has committed to holding clinics and awareness events about donation for students every year.

“I am pleased that the university can help raise awareness of how people can help Adrian’s campaign.
