Posthumous award for brave Examiner journalist Adrian Sudbury

There were 35 categories marking achievement in the fields of business, education, sport and the arts. There were also special awards for Youngster of the Year (under 12) and an Action for Children Achiever.

Among the guests was Meltham artist Darren Baker. The comperes were ITV Yorkshire Calendar presenters Christine Talbot and Duncan Wood.

The proceeds from the event, plus sponsorship cash, will go towards the charity Action for Children.

The charity, previously known as NCH, runs projects which help children in Yorkshire. The Yorkshire Young Achievers Awards has raised £600,000 for the charity over the past 16 years.
