Adrian’s Baldy's Blog is still among the winners

ADRIAN Sudbury’s blog has been named among the winners at a major awards ceremony – for the second time.
The Examiner journalist’s award-winning Baldy’s Blog, carried on by his parents Keith and Kay after his death, came third in its category at the International Weblog Awards.
Baldy’s Blog won Best Medical/Health Issues prize at the 2007 Weblog Awards.
This time, judges of the global competition, which is decided by a public internet vote, shortlisted Baldy’s Blog in the Best UK Blog category for the poll.
The blog had been nominated for the 2008 awards by one of its many keen followers – known as Adrian’s Army.
Adrian’s dad Keith likened the blog to the Duracell bunny, saying it keeps going and going.
“He produced something very special and there is no doubt that his work and campaign will save lives in the future,” he said.
Adrian died on August 20 last year, aged just 27, after a two-year fight against leukaemia.
His blog was started not long after his diagnosis and chronicled the ups and downs of living with the disease.
It was also a vital tool in the Sign Up For Sudders campaign Adrian began last May – just after being told he had weeks to live.
