FOR 18 years he’s been leading the Seven Dwarfs in Snow White pantomimes.
But this year Oakes actor Michael Walter will be leading the merry men.
For he’s landed a part in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s first Christmas production of The Heart of Robin Hood.
Michael, better known as Big Mick, plays the part of Little John at the newly refurbished RSC theatre in Stratford-on-Avon.
The show, which runs until January 7, has received critical acclaim and Michael is loving the experience.
The 56-year-old said: “It’s just brilliant, it’s a great part to have.
“Little John is one of the Merry Men and he’s a fabulous character, I couldn’t ask for anything better.
“I do all sorts of stunts. I come down from the ceiling on ropes and am up and down trap doors and the stage is all grass – it’s endless activity.”
In 1995 Michael landed his first part in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and has played a part in the same touring panto every year until last Christmas, when he was on stage at the Bradford Alhambra.
