ANOTHER perpetual oddity in life is the existence of aliens.

According to a survey by XCOM, the company behind a new videogame called Enemy Unknown, which tasks the player with saving the world from an enemy invasion, around 33 million people in the UK believe that life exists on other planets while only 27.5 million believe there is a God.

And 52% of the population believe that evidence of UFOs already has or would be covered up because the fact of their existence would threaten the stability of the government.

Amazingly, 10% of people reckon to have even seen a UFO.

On all of this I’ve always been a cynic. The earth has been here for millions of years and yet there’s no hard evidence that aliens exist or have even bothered to visit our planet.

Surely in all that time we’d have turned something concrete up rather than bizarre snatched photographs and vivid accounts of alien abductions without the ‘victims’ actually bringing anything back from the spaceship as a souvenir.

Just about everyone has a mobile phone, so why no decent close-up images of beaming aliens offering to ‘beam you up’.

Why would they want to come here anyway. It rains all the time and they’d never be able to afford the fuel home.

But there again, what if the Government are actually aliens? Or is that why they’re covering it all up?
