Honley kids set to get their skates on

SKATEBOARDERS in the Valley should soon have a new place to ride after funding for a new skate-park in Honley was secured.

The £55,000 park, at the Jaggar Lane Recreation Ground in Honley, is part of a £¼m Honley Park revamp that will include a new toddler play area and the installation CCTV.

The final portion of cash for the plans was approved by councillors at last month’s Holme Valley North Area Committee.

If planning permission is given, work on the skate-park – which will feature a quarter-pipe along with three other ramps and a grind rail – could begin as soon as April.
