Surgery on the move

A NEW mobile health care service is set to be ‘trialled’ in the Holme Valley.

Backed by Dr YusufShamsee (pictured above) from Oaklands Health Centre in Holmfirth, Kirklees PCT and Holme Valley councillors, the Outreach mobile surgery is set to give free advice and holistic health care to patients that can’t make it to the surgery.

Services available for registered patients only include, advice on diet, stopping smoking, healthy lifestyles, exercise, blood pressure and blood sugar checks.

There is also free advice for carers, on benefits, heating allowances, and a mobile library service including self help books.

The service launches at 9.30am next Wednesday at Paris Crossroads, Scholes. The mobile surgery then moves on to Uppergate, Hepworth, 11am, Wooldale, (opposite the Wooldale Arms) at 1pm, and Hinchliffe Mill, (opposite Londis) 3pm.
