Petition demands repairs

URGENT repairs are needed for a Holme Valley lane, residents claim.

A petition of 69 names was handed to councillors at last week’s Holme Valley North Area Committee.

It demanded that public footpath 31 – Robinson Lane – off Woodhead Road near Honley, is repaired.

The deputation by residents of the lane, also asked for long overdue tree maintenance to be undertaken.

The historic road is not a by-way but is shown in maps dating back to the 18th century.

It was named after James Robinson who built a mill there in 1850.
