Rangers tested as run goes on

Under 11

Underbank Rangers 28 Greetland 26

RANGERS dug deep to maintain their seven-match unbeaten run since Christmas.

The tireless squad put in another fine effort with Man of the Match Jamie Stringer giving yet another outstanding display running in a try and adding the conversion in the first half.

And newcomer Harry Franklin was given the grafter award for his strong runs and perseverance throughout.

Rangers looked strong in the first half with tries from Lewis Churm, Jack Wilson, George Heppenstall and Stringer, and conversions by Stringer, Churm, Jack Turner and Wilson.

But Greetland were not out of it with the score at 24-10 at the break.

And they roared back on the restart, scoring three tries in quick succession despite some tough tackling by Rangers.

But Luke Hughes then scored a crucial try and despite a good effort by Greetland, Rangers managed to hold out for a well-deserved victory.
