Police plea after car chase drama

POLICE have renewed their appeal for information following a failed pursuit of a 4x4 vehicle through the streets of the Holme Valley.

At 4.45pm on Wednesday March 5, officers tried to speak to a man in a blue Mitsubishi Shogun parked at Little Cake, near Scholes.

The man drove off at speed and a chase through Holmfirth, New Mill and Scholes ended in failure when the 4x4 vehicle took to a rocky track at Hirst Lane near the Crossroads pub, above New Mill preventing the police panda car from following.

The 20 minute pursuit saw the man driving on the wrong side of the road and causing several near misses with other road users.

Officers had been alerted to the man’s presence by a member of the public who was concerned for his welfare. The vehicle’s registration number is N781DNW.
