MILESTONES in the Denby Dale district have taken on a sparkling new black and white look after the area committee devoted a “modest” amount of cash to renovate them.

Ward councillor on Kirklees Council Maggie Blanshard said: “The Kirklees officer dealing with this labour of love has unfortunately retired, but I’m keen for the work to continue to preserve an important part of our local heritage.”
