Spirits high despite rain

RAIN failed to dampen the spirits of visitors to Lepton C of E School gala.

The event had to be moved indoors when wet weather arrived, but it still raised a total of £1,500 for funds.

The gala included a visit from a fire engine and a helicopter cockpit provided by Doncaster Air Museum.

There were games, a raffle, face painting, balloon modelling and a performance by rock band Out On Bail.

Three adult helpers from the Just For Fun out-of-school club raised cash by sitting in a bath of jelly.

The event was organised by Samantha Midgeley, on behalf of the Friends Of The School group. She said: “Despite the weather it was a really nice day and everyone enjoyed themselves.”
