At Sunday morning service at Birdsedge Church, Tom Wood talked to the children about how God’s light can shine from each of us to help others find their way and save them from trouble. The conversion of Saul was used, for the adults, to illustrate God’s plan and ask if each of us is following the plan laid out for us. Tom will also take next week’s service. Read

POLICE NEWS ROUND-UPExtra patrols will be on duty in the Kirklees Division over the next few weeks to tackle anti-social behaviour in the villages. This is as a result of extra funding from the Home Office. The first of these patrols, on August 8, saw alcohol being confiscated from a number of under age youths.After a number of thefts of audio equipment from Ford Focuses and thefts of 4x4 vehicles – particularly Land Rover Defenders – night time patrols resulted in the arrest of four males. They had travelled into the area from South Yorkshire and have been bailed while further evidence is gathered. Anyone with a Ford Focus or a 4x4 should please be aware.Intelligence is being collated about drug dealing in the area.
