Healthy roadshow kicks off

A MONTH of weekly wellbeing roadshows and health awareness events kicked off last week in Meltham.

The focus on health, funded by the Holme Valley North and South Area Committees, aims to showcase the range of services offered by the NHS, the council and voluntary groups, with two main Holme Valley events and a host of opportunities to visit an information bus as it tours the region.

The events are targeted at vulnerable people and the over 50s and offer advice on keeping warm, well, safe, secure and healthy.

Free blood pressure and diabetes checks are offered and advice on eligibility and applying for benefits is given.
