LOOK North colleagues will battle it out in a cookery contest at Holmfirth Food and Drink Festival this weekend.
News readers Ian White and Christa Ackroyd will cook up a storm in a ‘Ready, Steady, Cook’ contest in the Market Hall at noon tomorrow (Sunday, September 28) while Pennine FM Radio presenters Paul Clark and Barry Robinson will battle it out at 11am today (Saturday).
The festival kicks off at 10am today with live music from Yorkshire Traction and Honley Band and Germans, Frumptarn Guggenband will be appearing in the German beer garden all weekend.
A food market will feature stalls from Angel Chocolates, J Brindon Addy Butchers, Chester’s chocolate kebabs, Coddy’s Farm, Farmhouse Kitchen, Holme Valley Fairtrade, Holmfirth Fresh Fish and Polydora's Pickles, to name but a few.
Cookery demonstrations will be held in the market hall.
The Carniceria will be hosting cocktail making demonstrations on Sunday.
Interested festival-goers can meet the Nook’s new brewer at 2pm on Saturday with cheese and wine tasting on both days at Carniceria.

Children’s entertainment at Norridge Bottom and in the library includes funky food flag painting, circus skills, face painting, biscuit decorating, butter making and a Mad Hatters tea-party. Table magic on both days will keep both adults and children entertained.
A free Park and Ride scheme is in operation on both days, with parking on Huddersfield Road (at Dunsley Heating) and on Dunford Road (next to Underbank Rugby club).
