The Rock at Brockholes held an Harvest Auction on Sunday September 28 and they beat last year’s total of £1,000, raising a magnificent £1,139.58. Auctioneer was the Rev Sean Robertshaw and money raised will be shared by local churches. Landlady Heather Henshaw and staff thank all customers who donated items and all those whose helped make the event such a great success. Read

Members of the Crosland Moor Mothers’ Union celebrated Holy Communion in St Barnabas’ Church. The celebrant was Rev Laurence Wood assisted by Rev Jenni Honeyman and the lessons were read by Andrea Rattigan and Rev Jenni. Afterwards the members held their monthly meeting in the Parish Hall, chaired by the Branch Leader, Joyce Rawlinson. Speaker was Malvern Goodall who spoke about and produced samples of the interesting contents of his garage, all of which holds a memory. Margaret Morelli proposed the vote of thanks to Mr Goodall and the refreshments were served by Barbara France and Margaret Morelli. Read
