Crimewatch: Sneak thief escapes with handbag in Valleys

THEFT: Golcar, March 14. Victim approached communal entrance to flats and put her handbag down on ground as she searched for her keys. Suspect approached from behind and stole handbag, making off towards Co-op on Sycamore Avenue. Suspect: medium build, medium height, wearing black hoody and black jeans. Golcar, March 10 Board removed from front window of house under renovation and window . forced. Generator and hand/power tools stolen. Longwood, March 10. Glass in rear door smashed to get into terraced house being built. Plumbing materials and power tools stolen. Milnsbridge, March 13 Bench stolen from back garden. Milnsbridge, March 13. Stone stolen from side garden. Cowlersley, March 15. Suspect got into front garden and stole rabbit and hutch.

ATTEMPTED THEFT: Linthwaite, March 17. Would-be thief got into back garden of block of flats, removed Yorkshire paving slabs from pavement and leaned them against wall. But he was disturbed by witness and make off in vehicle leaving stone slabs behind. Linthwaite, March 12. Paving stones lifted from back garden and stacked at the side of house. Suspect/s disturbed and make off empty handed.

BURGLARY: Golcar, March 13. Padlock and inner Yale lock removed from house garage, but raiders activated alarm and made off in vehicle. Milnsbridge. March 11 Basement window of empty house smashed and raider reached in removed ladders, using them to reach up and smash front window. Jewellery and power tools stolen. Salendine Nook, March 12 . Rear conservatory window and dining room window smashed and unlocked, activating alarm. Intruder made off through front of house and got into waiting vehicle. Suspects: two males, wearing dark coloured hoodys with hoods up, thought to be teenagers.
