An action-packed Easter weekend saw Holmfirth Christian Centre, giving out free Cadbury's cream eggs with a track explaining the real meaning of Easter to residents and visitors to Holmfirth. Then the King, Elvis arrived aka Pastor Ian Gooch to also emphasis the true meaning of Easter. Lots of fun was had by all. This was followed by the Easter Sunday message of 'A Living Saviour' the empty cross.
Wednesday's midweek meeting featured a film night showing Pilgrims Progress an excellent adaptation of the book with a powerful, hard-hitting message, followed by refreshments and fellowship together.
Sunday's service was led by praise and worship followed by the word of God given by Ian Sharland on 'Honouring God'. Reading from several scriptures in the Bible he told how we could honour God by honouring one another. This led to everyone in the congregation committing to honouring one another throughout the week.
'X'plorer's church children's group led by Kathryn Jackson looked at the sacrifice that Jesus made and the youngsters also coloured in cards to give out to church members.
