The Association of Christian Fellowship of St Barnabas’ Church held their monthly meeting in the Parish Hall. The leader Susan Tattersley opened the meeting with a short reading of appropriate verse, after which she introduced the speaker and entertainer Graham Barraclough from Mirfield. Mr Barraclough gave a full and very amusing account of his past employment as entertainments organiser for Kirklees, which included events in the parks, concerts, circuses and theatre performances. He has also performed on stage himself and now works as a children’s entertainer under the name of ‘Gee Whiz’. A vote of thanks was proposed to Mr Barraclough by Margaret Sigsworth and the hostesses for the evening were Andrea Turner and June Ringe. Read
