New and refreshing

RELATIVE newcomer to the music scene, Imelda May has already received rave reviews from the likes of Jools Holland, Beck and a host of audiences country-wide.

And music-lovers will have the chance to see what all the fuss is about when the Irish lass appears at Holmfirth Picturedrome on Thursday June 18 (7.30pm).

Imelda’s music fuses rockabilly and early rock’n’roll but with a 21st century spin. Her debut album, Love Tattoo, is lusciously retro, but as fresh as 2009.

And her live gigs – where she sings and plays bodhran – are fierce.

Tickets for the concert are £12 each and can be booked by visiting the Picturedrome between 7.30-8.30pm any night or via the website.
