Festival frenzy

SUMMER has sparked beer festival fever at pubs and clubs throughout Huddersfield.

Armitage Bridge’s Monkey Club MonkeyFest III takes place on Saturday and Sunday July 4 and 5 (noon-11pm and noon-9pm respectively) and promises up to 40 real ales, ciders, live music and a barbecue.

Hall Bower WMC hosts the second Bower Beer Fest on Saturday and Sunday July 25 and 26 (11.30am-11pm). Over 16 hand-pulled regional and national ales are expected.

Holmfirth-based The Nook stages its sixth annual beer festival on August Bank Holiday Friday-Sunday August 28-30.

There’s likely to be over 40 cellar-cooled real ales, ciders and fruit wines, as well as live music on the three nights.

Marsh Liberal Club’s Beer Festival will be on Friday and Saturday June 26 and 27 (4.30-midnight and noon-midnight respectively)
