The organist was Philip Turner. Bible readings were by Dorothy Verlander, from Jeremiah and David Verlander who read from Ephesians. For his sermon Dean Henry chose the subject of Holidays and spoke about his recent visit to the Scilly Islands. Holidays were a way of resting and relaxing after weeks of hard work. Henry stated that the weekly visit to church, after the working week, was an example of how we should come away and rest awhile. Intercession prayers were prepared and presented by Margaret Haigh. The young church with their leaders Joan Morton MBE and Debbie Yates joined the service for The Peace and Henry discussed what they had done at Sunday school. Several members of Waverly United Reform church were in the congregation, led by Arthur Preston to collect the Ecumenical Cross to continue with its journey around the churches together in Colne Valley. The service ended with Dean Henry giving the Blessing. Notices included a reminder about Count your Blessings donations for the Mothers Union and the Monday Club meeting with a talk by Arthur Preston.
