Child centres planned for Flockton and Wooldale

Katherine Wilson, who has worked at Wooldale Pre-School for 14 years, said the centre was great news for the area.
She said: "It can’t come soon enough, the area is so big that it’s definitely needed.
"I think it will be a great community service.
"It’ll only be a two minute walk from the community centre to the infants’ school so it’s perfectly situated.
"I think it will be a really great thing for the area."
Another Wooldale resident, who did not want to be named, welcomed the extra resources for families but said they thought it should be in the more deprived area of the village near Wooldale Junior School.
While council environmentalists have discovered the site lies on the edge of the bat alert layer, it is thought that bats are not roosting in the area.
Nevertheless bat roost features for pipistrelle bats and integral bird nest boxes for house sparrows and starlings are planned.
Access to the site will be through the existing driveway off Robert Lane.
Highways officials have predicted there will be only five or six extra car movements per day and have given the plan the thumbs up.
