Heidi embarks on dream charity job

LUCKY Heidi Hinchliffe is to embark on her dream charity job.

Heidi, 28, from Brockholes, was chosen from over 1,100 applicants to win a place on the Vodafone Foundation’s 2009 World of Difference UK Programme.

She will work for two months at Manchester’s Reach Out, her chosen charity, as a project development and fundraising officer.

Her role, which starts this month, will include mentoring young people, often from deprived backgrounds, into broadening their horizons and career prospects.

Heidi said: “It is absolutely brilliant to be given this opportunity.

“I am really looking forward to working alongside such a dedicated team.

“I hope that by the end of my placement I will have helped and supported the young people as they progress through education and into the world of work.”

The Vodafone programme gives 500 people from across the UK the opportunity to work for a charity of their choice. For details visit: vodafone.co.uk/worldofdifference.
