GOOD NEWSIndy Basra from the Kirklees Young People’s Services is hoping to work with the local youths from around the Colne Valley area. Indy is hoping to get some of the kids in the area to join him for a game of footie on the astro-turf up at Colne Valley High School. The programme will run for approximately six weeks and if it proves successful Indy hopes to put on some other activities – such as DJ-ing. Read

Parkside, Pinfold Close and Barnsley Road, Flockton, we are having isolated incidents of nuisance caused by young people on motorcycles. We continue to target such offenders and wherever possible to put a stop to this we will seize the bikes. Please continue to report such incidents. CROWN COURT CASEOn Friday February 12 at Bradford Crown Court Adrian Sadowski received 52 months prison sentence. The Valleys Neighbourhood Policing Team assisted in the quick arrest and detection of the suspect for two burglaries in Brockholes and Honley. Both these victims were elderly vulnerable people. A police spokesman said: “Thank you to all the witnesses, especially the young lady who chased the suspect as he fled from one of the victim’s home address. Also a big thank to the lady who attended court with one of the elderly victims. She gave up her own time freely to give moral support. Who said there was no community spirit! Thank you.” Read
