Christmas can only mean one thing for schools … nativities.

Teachers are now busy sending in their nativity pictures for this year’s special nativity supplement which will be published in the Examiner at the end of this week.

So we thought it as wise as the three wise men to look back at nativities over the years for our nostalgia gallery.

And they range from the traditional nativities complete with Joseph, Mary, shepherds and angels through to more obscure Christmas themes such as children dressed as trees.

Most of the pictures are from 2002 to 2006 which will mean many of the youngsters in the pictures will be now in their late teens.

The schools include Netherton Infants and Nursery, Cumberworth First School, Denby C of E School, Lindley Infants School, Farnley Tyas School, Mount School, Wilberlee Junior and Infant and Helme School.
