Huddersfield actress Jodie Whittaker WILL be back for the third and final series of Broadchurch. The hit ITV show has today announced actors Charlie Higson and Julie Hesmondhalgh, who played Hayley Cropper in Coronation Street, will be joining the show.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman, who will be reprising their roles as DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller, will also be joined by Murdered By My Boyfriend’s Georgina Campbell and Home Fires’ Mark Bazeley.

Creator Chris Chibnall described the eight-part final series as an “emotional farewell” as Hardy and Miller reunite for the last time to investigate a serious sexual assault in the close-knit Dorset community.
Jodie Whittaker and Andrew Buchan will be returning to play Beth and Mark Latimer, the parents of strangled schoolboy Danny, whose murder investigation captured the attention of the nation when Broadchurch began in 2013.
Doctor Who star Arthur Darvill also returns as local vicar Paul Coates, Carolyn Pickles is back as newspaper editor Maggie Radcliffe and Adam Wilson reprises his role as Miller’s son Tom.
