Very slow traffic and traffic heavier than normal on A644 Eastbound between M62 J25 (Brighouse) and A62 Cooper Bridge Road (Cooper Bridge Roundabout).

M62
Stop-start traffic and hard shoulder closed due to broken down vehicle on M62 Westbound between J27 M621 / A650 / A62 (Gildersome) and J26 M606 / A58 (Chain Bar).
This is affecting traffic going from Leeds towards Huddersfield and was initially reported as an accident.
Local news
Shocking statistics have revealed that nearly a quarter of local pensioners are struggling with a life of poverty.
A study carried out by charity Independent Age revealed 24% of over-75s across Yorkshire and the Humber were surviving with no savings.
House fire
Update on the fire at Fanny Moor Lane in Lowerhouses: Fire crews say the woman treated for smoke inhalation was in her late teens. She is being checked over in hospital but said to be okay. Firemen also rescued a small dog from the property. The contained fire has now been extinguished with minor damage caused to the home. No reports of any further injuries.

Visitors to a Mirfield inflatables fun day were left fuming after the event failed to live up to expectations.
The bonanza at Crossley Farm on Sunday boasted to ticket buyers of nine different inflatables, but families were less than impressed to turn up and find only half that.
Organiser Victoria Wallin has now apologised to ticket buyers.
House fire
Reports are coming in of a house fire at Fanny Moor Lane in Lowerhouses. A woman has been hospitalised with smoke inhalation after the fire is believed to have ignited in the kitchen of the property. Two appliances were dispatched to the blaze with crews currently still tackling it. More information as we get it.

Adding to current M62 traffic, there is also slow traffic and traffic heavier than normal on the A644 Eastbound between M62 J25 (Brighouse) and A62 Cooper Bridge Road (Cooper Bridge Roundabout).
M62
Reports of one lane blocked and queueing traffic due to broken down van on M62 Eastbound at J25 Brighouse. The van is blocking the inside lane that used to be the hard shoulder.

Police have arrested a 37-year-old man who has been on the run for 10 days.
Sheldon Corre fled Rufford Road, Milnsbridge, on Friday, May 20, after allegedly threatening police officers who had arrived to take him back to prison on recall saying he had infringed the terms of his licence.
Police picked him up from an address in Belgrave Crescent, Sheepridge, last night.
He is now in custody while detectives investigate his alleged threats.

Thieves have stolen fuel over 700 times from petrol stations in Kirklees in just one year – with parts of the Holme Valley, Lindley and Golcar areas among the top targets for the thieves in Huddersfield.
A total of 708 crimes of thefts and making off without payment of petrol or diesel at petrol stations were reported to West Yorkshire Police between April 30 2015 and May 1 2016, according to figures obtained from a Freedom of Information request. You can see more here.
