The new-look Co-operative store in Slaithwaite has been unveiled.

A total of £340,000 has been spent on the refurbishment of the Lewisham Road shop, which opened its doors on Thursday December 11 after being closed since November 23.

It now includes new and increased ranges, including fresh produce and ready meals sections.

Pat Bohdan from Slaithwaite Meals on Wheels was invited to open the store.

Richard Swales, Store Manager, said: “I’m excited about welcoming shoppers into the new store. I’m sure our customers will enjoy shopping in the new environment, which will provide them with a convenient location to pick up everything they need”.

Barbara Bamforth has been appointed as a ‘community pioneer’, who will help involve the shop in volunteering and other measures.
