HOW I wish that when our politicians are elected by the people of this country they would run it as if it was their own home. They would find the right amounts of money they could spend on the security of their home and put it into practice, the things that are affordable and what are not without running into debt and most of all to only allow people into our homes by invitation.
Translated into national issues they are law and order, the war in Iraq and illegal immigration.

Museum cost uncovered
AS stated in your paper, Tolson Museum has been awarded £80,000. This is not good news as the money is to be used to re-lead the roof as all the lead was stolen by thieves.
What puzzles me if this money had not become available would Kirklees have supplied us all with an umbrella as we looked round the exhibits?
Come on Kirklees, surely this money was not awarded for this purpose, money should be spent on improvements inside the museum and not on top. Many school children visit this popular museum and money should be spend on updating some of the rooms to their advantage.
