AGEWELL has set up some new recreational and health promotion groups in the Huddersfield area.
The group will be meeting every Thursday at Fartown Village Hall where a variety of activities will take place including cookery classes, gentle exercise, invited speakers, coffee mornings and bingo.
The group will meet between 10-3pm. Anyone 55 years of age or over is welcome to go along and join. Membership of the group will be £5 per year.
The group, among other things, will be organising some coastal trips and doing some intergenerational work with local schools.
Agewell has also established an Asian women’s swimming group which will meet at Huddersfield Sports Centre every Sunday evening at 6pm.
The group is financially supported by Kirklees Community Partnerships, The Reducing Inequalities grant and has received support from Greggs Foundation, Changes for Life, ASDA and Wilkinson’s.
