THREE arty GCSE students are set to make an early appearance at university.

Art pupils Amber Simpson, Vicky Morley and Courtney Farley have done Almondbury High School proud after they were accepted to take part in Saturday morning art classes held at Huddersfield University.

There were 138 applicants from schools all over Kirklees and only 30 pupils gained places.

The Year 10 girls have access to all university art resources and are mentored and taught by fine art students.

As part of the course the girls will visit Art galleries in London and their work will be included in an exhibition at Somerset House.
