STAFF at a nursery are celebrating after receiving an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rating – just nine months after taking it over.
Porterbrook Nurseries took over the Academy@Almondbury, Southfield Road, in May last year.
The nursery was given the slightly different moniker of ‘The Academy at Almondbury’ and a revamp.
An inspection, was carried out by Ofsted last month, and the report said: “This provision is outstanding. Children explore the environment with confidence and enthusiasm. They are highly motivated and use resources extremely effectively to support their learning and play.
“Staff have an outstanding knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Staff are extremely skilled in using a wide range of learning strategies to promote children’s development.”
Academy at Almondbury executive manager Jane Erlank said: “It’s a huge achievement.
“We had hoped for a ‘good’ rating, but when the inspector gave us the review and gave us an outstanding rating we were all celebrating hugely.
“The team really pulled together,” she added.
