THESE students paid tribute to the town’s textile industry.

Year eight students from King James’s School, Moor End Academy and Almondbury High School learnt traditional Yorkshire textile techniques known as Locker Hooking.

The group produced three textile plaques each depicting the school name and were guided be designer Mary Lane.

The plaques will be displayed in the respective schools.

The textile session was part of a Community Cohesion project designed to bring students together from different backgrounds.

Morgan Burton of KJS said: “Working with others you didn’t know was exciting and interesting”

Holly Bachas-Brook of the same school added: “It was nice learning a new skill.”
