MANY residents in Moldgreen will no doubt back a judge’s decision to ban David Reilly from their streets.

The 38-year-old has terrorised the area during a series of incidents and he has now been given a two-year Anti Social Behaviour Order which is designed to keep him out.

Judge Robert Bartfield has warned Reilly that if he breaks it, he will go to jail.

And his words that he would rather see Reilly homeless than returning to Moldgreen will be applauded by some and condemned for a lack of humanity by others.

But, at the heart of this issue may be Reilly’s mental health problems and how well care in the community works.

The judge may have sounded hard but he imposed a sentence that will go some way to helping Reilly too.

Yet how many others like David Reilly are out there not getting the help they need yet disrupting other people’s lives?
