Police are hunting a teenager who punched a woman as she walked her puppy at South Cross Road, off Cowcliffe Hill Road, Cowcliffe.
Police say he threatened the woman, who is in her mid-20s, as he demanded her handbag.
When she declined to hand it over he punched her.
The attack happened on Friday afternoon.
The Asian man is said to be 19 years old, and of slim build.
He was wearing a white sleeveless Adidas T-shirt with red stripes on the sleeves and grey jogging bottoms.
