GETTING cash in one local village is becoming an increasing problem, according to one local man.
A cash booth installed to replace a closed bank in Kirkburton has been frequently out-of-order, the man claims.
As reported in the Express & Chronicle in January, Kirkburton lost its only bank late last year when the HSBC branch on North Road was axed after bosses said not enough people were using it.
The closure left many people with long trips to Huddersfield or Wakefield to do their banking.
After the branch closed its doors the global banking giant installed a stand alone cash booth at the other end of the village on School Hill.
But carer, Martin Fletcher, who was angry at the bank closure, said the new machine had been out of action the last two times he had been to use it.
