A Batley pub is experiencing a new lease of life following a £340,000 investment.

The Fox and Hounds in Bennett Lane, owned by Punch Taverns and run by Neil and Karen Hudson on behalf of Linthwaite Leisure, has undergone substantial redevelopment.

As well as newly-designed interior and an improved car park, the pub also boasts no fewer than eight TV screens, showing live sports. Food such as burgers, pies and pizzas are also served.

Pub manager Neil said it was important the pub kept its local identity and added: “I believe we have created a great environment for all and that is really paying off with the comments we have received from our customers.

“They have been impressed with the new decor and the extra TVs. I hope the Fox and Hounds can go from strength to strength.”

Dewsbury Tory MP Simon Reevell, who attended the launch, said: “I was very pleased to visit see the transformation at first hand.

“It is good to see the enthusiasm among those enjoying what the pub has to offer to the local community.

“I wish Neil and the team all the very best.”
