A Birkby young singer is hoping to wow judges with her talents to secure a place to sing to a packed audience at the London IndigO2.

Eleven-year-old Ellie Crowe entered the Teen Star competition and has already fought for her place in the regional finals.

Despite having no formal singing lessons her natural talents shone out with her beautiful rendition Sarah McLachlan’s ballad ‘In the Arms of The Angels’.

Ellie will be attending Sheffield City Hall on Sunday April 6 and can’t wait to get on stage.

She has been inspired by her father James who plays the guitar.

Ellie’s mum said: “She is so excited.

“The first audition was also in Sheffield and she was nervous but did a great job.

“She hasn’t sung other than in the school choir and we have been going to Open Mic nights at the Junction pub in Marsh to build her confidence up.

“She is going to perform Titanium by David Guetta and Sia. It is a really tricky song with lots of high notes.

“We are very proud of her.”

Ellie will be supported on the day by her mum and dad and step-sisters Kim and Jodie.
