IT is so sad to see that courageous Terry Meigh has lost his battle with cancer.

Great strides have been made into cancer research and treatment in recent times which have led to more and more people surviving – but sadly it still ends in tragedy for many.

Terry’s family has lost a wonderful husband and father – and Huddersfield has lost an inspirational man.

He showed immense courage in talking so openly about his bowel cancer – an illness many would not have been prepared to discuss in such detail.

Terry made it his final mission to warn others and no doubt inspired many people to use the bowel cancer testing kits and, hopefully, get an early diagnosis.

He may have saved lives – and that is surely the greatest epitaph he could have left.
