Restaurant raided

BURGLARS damaged a Huddersfield restaurant by leaving the taps running. The thieves broke into Red Onion on Manchester Road at Thornton Lodge by prising open the back door. They took cash and four bottles of spirits and then placed a tea towel in the sink and left the taps running. The overflowing water damaged the laminate floor and short-circuited the cabling, causing the restaurant’s freezers to lose power. Anyone with information about the incident, which happened on September 16, can call police on 101.
