It’s been a busy time at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Grosvenor Road, Dalton.

Headteacher Dominic Williams says plaudits are due to the Year Five football team who are unbeaten throughout the season.

They also won the Huddersfield School FA Year Five league.

Also deserving of praise are Mr Fawcett’s class who have been trained as play leaders.

They organise games for the school’s younger children and next year, like their Year Six counterparts this year, will be helping at Sports Day with its 3-7 year olds.

In addition a group of children attended a Gifted and Talented sports workshop at All Saints’ College along with other children from the feeder primary schools.

The day was organised by Neil Kelly of All Saints’ who also works for the Pennine Schools Sports Partnership.
