MILLIONS of pounds is on its way to ease traffic jams across West Yorkshire.

And Calderdale Council is to be given a major slice of the £12m handout.

The money will be used to improve the notorious Hipperholme crossroads, scene of massive traffic jams especially at peak times.

The crossroads faces added problems because major firms like Croslee and Marshalls have premises in the area, which mean many lorries heading in and out of their premises.
