DEDICATED people are determined to bring another of Huddersfield’s parks back to life.

Work has already been done in Norman Park at Birkby in recent years, but the Friends Of Norman Park went ‘into hibernation’ a couple of years ago due to too many personal commitments.

Now the group is back and reinvigorated, determined to bring in several improvements.

The Friends of Beaumont Park have already had phenomenal success and the Friends Of Greenhead Park have been closely involved in their park’s huge restoration project.

People who put so much time and effort into parks are community heroes. As people’s disposable income gets less and less, parks will become increasingly vital for somewhere to take the children and have a fun yet cheap day out.

Parks are an important part of our heritage and vital green spaces.

The Huddersfield community owes them all a great debt of gratitude.
