A fun day has been held in Deighton to encourage the community to visit their local library.

The event was held last month at the Chestnut Library and Information Centre with family activities and workshops among the atractions.

Children enjoyed stuffed animal making, cupcake decoration and nail art as part of the event.

Project Coordinator Dani Maloney said: “The event was organised to get people to start thinking of libraries not only as places of learning but also as spaces for creating and the sharing of peer knowledge.

“We had over 60 people attending the event which was a fantastic response,” she said.
