Parents have enhanced the outlook of their children’s education by transforming the entrance to the Early Years site at Christ Church Academy, Deighton.

The project was funded by Big Lottery Awards for All grant scheme and saw artwork produced by parents whose children have started at the school this September.

Artists Bronwyn Morris and Jan Yates led the creative workshops between April and the summer.

Lisa Jagger, Enrichment Activity Facilitator said: “Through discussion, creativity and a lot of fun they came up with artworks and design ideas that reflect the exciting, inspirational, and enjoyable learning experience that Early Years children have at Christ Church CE Academy.

“Their colourful, eye-catching designs gave the entrance to the Early Years Unit a fantastic face-lift and made it feel really welcoming.

“The artworks are also designed to be stimulating, encouraging children to name and count colours and shapes and spot the hidden mini beasts.”

The project was delivered through a partnership with Loca Creatives, a specialist project management company that designs and delivers high-quality creative projects to support communities.
