Parishioners at St Michael the Archangel Parish Church, Emley, heard that the clock repairs are going ahead at the beginning of April, so local people will again be able to check the time as they walk round the village. Many sponsors’ contributions have made this possible. On Mothering Sunday a celebration of the role of mothers and caring people was held at the 10.45 a.m. service of All Age Worship with Holy Communion. Bunches of daffodils were distributed to all who wanted to take some for mums and friends. Children decorated jars to hold candles, representing the theme of light and love. The annual Lent course continues on Tuesday evenings, looking at Experiencing God’s Mercy” using Bishop Steven Croft’s book of the same name. It will continue until Holy Week, starting at 7.45 p.m. in church – all welcome. There is an afternoon group on Tuesdays following the same course, held at individual houses – contact the Rev Dr John Marsh for more details – 01924 849161.
