THE date of the general election has been announced and the leaders of all parties will be travelling the length and breadth of the country to try to persuade the electorate to vote for them. I don’t know why they bother.
I think ordinary people everywhere already know who they are going to vote for on May 6. Forget the expenses scandal, the issues are stark. I believe people are intelligent enough to see through the campaigns of the spin doctors and make up their own minds.
Believe in Brown and what he has already done in guiding Britain out of recession. Believe in Cameron who promises change and a new outlook. Or believe in Clegg and give the Liberal Democrats the chance to be part of a coalition. Straight forward choices.
And whichever party you support, one thing is of paramount importance: to cast your vote. That’s what being part of a democracy is all about.
