THE stories of rock bands that played at the Plaza Teen Club on Manchester Road at Thornton Lodge has prompted more recollections, this time from Linda Tierney.

“It brought back many happy memories of the idyllic Sixties. I remember seeing the Kinks but, one of the best and under-rated groups who came, were the Small Faces who absolutely brought the house down.

“The Plaza was used as a Catholic Church so we went to Mass in the morning but couldn't wait for the evening. The parish priest who instigated these gigs was Father Lee Walsh. Halcyon days.”
